Mansion Poker Heads Up Review
Mansion Poker is an independent poker room which has made a big impact since
joining the market in 2006. Traffic volumes are relatively small (but are
growing all the time) this is balanced by weaker opponents, generous bonuses and
easy to use software.
Heads-Up Poker Games Available.
Mansion is a great destination for those players who enjoy heads-up poker SNGs. These are in No-Limit Texas Holdem format at a variety of buy-in levels. These start at just $5 going right up to a massive $5000 for the high-rollers. The most popular heads-up tournaments are at the lower end of the buy-ins from $5 up to $50. Blind levels are 10 minutes at Mansion Poker, which leaves room for your skill advantage to come into play. Unlike other poker rooms Mansion take their fee from the total buy-in instead of adding this. For example the $10 Heads-Up SNGs have a prize of $19.40.Taking such a small amount (compared to some other poker rooms) from each player means that there is more room for you to make a profit!
Other Games Available
There is a good selection of cash games, tournaments and sit and goes
available at Mansion Poker. The players are predominantly tournament based, cash
games are available but tend to get busy only at the lower stakes. In addition
to Texas Holdem (No-Limit, Pot-Limit and Fixed Limit Varieties) there are Omaha
(+ Hi-Lo) and 7 card stud (again + Hi-Lo) games readily available.
Mansion Poker features many tournaments with overlay prize pools. This means
that the total prize available is greater than the buy-ins of the participants.
The biggest overlay tournament available is the daily $100k which often features
extra prize money of several thousand dollars.
Player Traffic
Traffic to Mansion is growing all the time. As of August 2007 this was up to around 4000 players at peak times. Remember to check regularly – this number is going up every month.
Poker Software
The software platform at Mansion Poker is one of the best around. Not only is it easy to navigate to the games you want but the client is very easy on your computers resources. The lobby is divided into three main areas – Games (cash games), Tournaments and Sit and Goes. From each area you then filter for game type, buy-in level and number of opponents. To find the heads-up games simply click ‘Sit and Goes’ then select the 2-player option – the full list is displayed immediately.
Bonuses and Promotions
The Mansion Poker sign-up bonus is a generous $500, this is matched to
deposits – but with a twist compared to other poker-rooms. Instead of a bonus on
your first deposit only, Mansion Poker allow this to be spread over your first
three deposits. This is a great reason to check out Mansion – if you like what
you see then the bonus is still available for you to deposit a larger amount
later. Mansion give away cash with their overlay tournaments – but they also
feature freeroll tournaments heavily in their schedule. Check out Mansion today
